Todd Patrick – the NYC-based luxury menswear brand – will open its first brick-and-mortar shop at Buckhead Village next month. Founded by designer Desyree (Des) Nicole and operated by Gabriella Paulino, the new storefront will feature vintage-inspired, ready-to-wear collections, plus bespoke and exclusive pieces only available for purchase at Buckhead Village, in a relaxed and approachable environment.
Launched in 2016 and named after Des’s brother, Todd Patrick is designed with the rebel in mind and offers a perfect equilibrium of relaxation and grit. Des draws design inspiration from timeless periods of fashion and reimagines style without boundaries. Fusing comfort and creativity, each piece is handmade in NYC and utilizes texture, color and pattern to highlight the multicultural background that defines Todd Patrick’s style.
The store will feature a modern, clean interior with vintage touches throughout, paying homage to the brand’s ethos of collecting timeless inspiration from the past and applying a modern twist. Shoppers will be able to peruse luxury, ready-to-wear items featured in the comfortable space, including the brand’s latest collection, “Rolling Sunsets,” which will launch in conjunction with the March opening. Inspired by Detroit, the new line adds vibrant colors, textures and bold patterns to Todd Patrick staples, including relaxed knit wear, silk tops and cropped jackets, to achieve a laid-back vibe. Everyday essentials like heavyweight t-shirts, lounge pants and joggers round out the collection.
A former Division I basketball player, Des moved to New York City to pursue fashion. She soon began styling NFL players and discovered a gap in the menswear market for cool, luxury styles in bigger and custom sizes and thus Todd Patrick was born. Thanks to the line’s custom tailoring and chic styles, Todd Patrick and Des have remained a favorite among professional athletes, rappers and celebrities.
“I hope that Michigan always bleeds through when the brand speaks, no matter where I travel,” says Des. “This is for everyone that truly got it out the mud and to the little girl that grew up in Waterford Meadows. Sometimes you have to create a table instead of waiting for a seat.”
